Some Popular Dive Sites:
Batch Plant:
The Batch Plant or Clearing Tank is located on the Boulder islands. This site has an average depth of 60ft and a max depth of ~100ft. This is a fantastic place to see freshwater fish including Blue Gill, Large Mouth Bass, Striped Bass, Catfish and huge Carp. This is an easy fun dive.

Aggregate Piles:
The Agg Piles are located along a relatively flat bottom portion of Lake Mead. Theses 4 piles are at about 95′ and have 10′x15′ concrete tunnels that can be penetrated safely. It is neat to go through the tunnels and then back out over the top of the piles where you will see what appear to be steam vents coming through the rock but are actually you own bubbles escaping the depths and launching a plume of dust up towards the surface. The agg piles were also used in the construction of the dam as storage places for rock used to make the concrete. This an advanced dive. Proper training is required.
Train Hopper:
The Train Hopper located near the Agg Piles is where trains would come in and dump the rock to be crushed and put in the Agg piles. There is a large long tunnel that runs out from under the hopper. To exit this tunnel you will ascend and 25′ vertical shaft. This is a thrilling dive for the more advanced divers with a max depth of 115′. This is an advanced dive. Proper training is required.
Various Walls:
There are several stunning wall dives around Lake Mead. The lake has dramatic cliffs that drop down into the inky darkness sometimes as deep as 300′. Often you’ll see catfish and carp scavenging around under shelves and occasionally you can even find some monster sized Crayfish. The stunning landscape of these walls will be something you remember for years to come.
2 Diver minimum required when booking for charter. Charter fees must be paid in full before boarding. All divers must show certification cards and sign waivers at check in. Sue and I had an awesome two days on Lake Mead. I was amazed at how clear the water was. 50 degrees ain’t that cold. We will be back.
I would post the pics, but can’t figure out how.
Many Thanks to Bill and Capt Tim.
What an awesome picture of all of us at the top of the page!! Scott was deployed for a while, came home then got called to help with the Haiti disaster so we haven’t been able to come into the shop for quite a while! He’ll be home next week! He was on the page tonight and saw the picture! How cool!
We both look forward to coming into the shop very soon!
My friend and i will be in Vegas over Memorial weekend and would like to dive Lake Mead, (gypsum) looks really cool. Let me know what it will take for the two of us to make this happen.
Thanks
I would also like to spend a day diving in September but can’t seem to find an email contact address. Don’t want to phone as I’m in the UK at present. Can you send some info please?
Thanks!
Hi there—I am planning a trip to Los Vegas the end of April and was interested in a dive day—-the three others I am with do not dive, but was wondering if could be paired up with someone—-I am an Open Water diver. I am staying at the Imperial Palace and was wondering how far, and if a bus could take to the dive site.
Thanks Kathy
Hi, my girlfriend and I (both Divemaster) will be present begining of june at Planet Hollywood Hotel. How can we book and plan a dive ?
Regards,
Laurent
Three trips, eight dives. A great time every time. Maybe next time the wind will cooperate.
Thanks again.
Good luck with that… lol
We just got back from Vegas and had a wonderful day diving with Bill and Captain Tim. As relative newbies (only certified for a month), Bill made us feel at ease and gave us countless tips during our dives. The friendly atmosphere of both Bill and Tim, beautiful scenery and awe inspiring feeling of hovering over a 200 foot plus dropoff made for easily our best day in Vegas. My only regret was that I didn’t book earlier in the week so I could go again during my trip.
Thanks Scuba Views for a perfect day!
