Bill started diving at age 51. His brother Gene was his inspiration to enter the underwater world. Once certified Bill quickly went up the ranks. Bill has logged over 5000 dives, shot thousands of underwater photographs and recorded hundreds of hours of underwater video in his career. He specializes in people who experience anxiety; gently leading them through the skills, eliminating their fears and helping them enjoy a brand new world. A word from Bill about one of his students

“I was teaching an open water student in the swimming pool a few years ago. Once we donned all the equipment I was checking to see if she had enough weight to stay on the bottom. In about 3 feet of water, she became very stressed and came to the surface saying she did not know if this sport was for her. I explained to her that what she experienced was purely psychological had nothing to do with scuba diving. She did not trust the regulator to provide her with enough air to breath. I cradled her in my arms and walked down slowly to the deep end of the pool, reassuring her by saying the water is coming up to your hips, now to your waist, now to your chest. This gave her that extra confidence and an hour later she was doing all the skills and turning back flips underwater. She ended her pool dive, saying “That was great, do we have to stop now?” I love teaching. Experiences like this are so rewarding.“
